Aileen San Pablo-

Aileen San Pablo-Baviera, PhD is a Professor at the Asian Center, University of the Philippines. Her research interests include contemporary China, Southeast Asia-China relations, Asia Pacific security, and regional integration. Her more recent publications include book chapters, journal articles and commentaries on Philippine foreign relations, the South China Sea disputes, and Chinese foreign policy toward Southeast Asia and the major powers.

Over the years, she has held visiting fellowships or delivered public lectures at various institutions in Australia, China, France, Japan, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan, United Kingdom, United States, and Vietnam. She is editor-in-chief of the quarterly refereed journal Asian Politics & Policy (Wiley), and currently sits on the international advisory committee of Contemporary Southeast Asia and the editorial advisory board of the Australian Journal of International Affairs.

Aside from her academic work, she is founding president of the independent, Philippine-based think tank – Asia Pacific Pathways to Progress.
